Credit Card Debt
January 29, 2009
Credit card debt can have an impact on your ability to qualify for a mortgage when buying real estate in Charlotte NC. Carrying credit card debt raises your monthly payment obligations which can reduce the maximum monthly mortgage payment you’ll be approved for. Carrying credit card debt is also an added monthly expense that can reduce the amount you have left over to contribute to savings, luxuries and other living expenses. Simply paying the minimum required monthly payment is... Read more →

January 28, 2009
Are lenders still loaning mortgage money in Charlotte NC? Yes!!! I’ve noticed some online postings indicating that lenders either aren’t lending or will only lend to borrowers with perfect credit and 20% down payment. Not true!!! While having 20% down and also having an excellent (as in over a 750) score will most likely make obtaining a mortgage easier, it’s not true that the only Charlotte NC mortgage loans being approved are to those borrowers. When buying real estate... Read more →

A less publicized and perhaps less popular method to reduce real estate inventory is for pseduo or “maybe” sellers to take their houses off the market. When I say “pseudo” or “maybe” sellers, I’m talking about homeowners who have their houses listed for sale but will only sell IF they get the price and terms that they’ve decided they... Read more →

Who Do Real Estate Agents Work For In Charlotte NC?
January 22, 2009
Real estate agents in Charlotte NC can work: - Exclusively for a buyer - Exclusively for the seller - Or work for both buyer and seller at the same time (dual agency). Maybe We Should Have An “Oath of Home Ownership”
January 20, 2009
Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States of America during today’s inauguration ceremony. So, I have to wonder whether we should have an “oath of home ownership”? A pledge and promise made at the settlement meeting (Charlotte NC real estate closing). A vow to, care for, take responsibility for, preserve, and maintain the... Read more →
